About me
My name is Matt Pointon and I’m a tourism professional. I have lived and worked in eight countries, travelled many more and have been involved in some internationally famous and groundbreaking tourism projects.
I have guided for many well-known and award-winning tour operators including MariCar, Mountain Goat, Australian Kayaking Adventures and currently Highland Experience. I have also worked in tourism destination development and been a college lecturer.

I am available for tour guiding services in Great Britain and Japan, and travel consultancy and trip planning support to almost anywhere in the world. My experience lies in small group guiding, outdoor and adventure activities and responsible tourism.
I have an FDA in Outdoor Activities, a BA in Adventure Tourism with Outdoor Recreation and an MSc in Responsible Tourism Management, all from leading UK Universities.
Expertise
I have been very fortunate to have lived and worked in eight countries in four continents working mostly in tourism and outdoor recreation. I have travelled many more.
I now live in Scotland where I work as a tour guide, tourism consultant and director of a community interest company.
